Traditions

For thousands of years, Vietnamese society has been typically family based; love and respect for family, parents and ancestors are passed on from generation to generation. On the happy occasion such as wedding ceremony, or the sad time of commemorating the deceased; the Vietnamese always light incense sticks to invite their ancestors to return to their family.

Vietnam has many festivities in which customs and traditions are practiced, not only in Vietnam but also by the Vietnamese overseas. To start the Lunar New Year, the Vietnamese celebrate their traditional Tet festival, followed by the Trung Sisters’ Holiday, the (Hung) Nation Founder’s Holiday, etc.
