Influenced by the Chinese, some Vietnamese believe that their fates are all set at the time they were born. This belief stems from the observation that the stars in the universe are always in motion and one’s fate is tied to such star pattern in the universe at the time of one’s birth. Vietnamese Astrology is therefore a “science” that helps people to predict the future.

The Vietnamese Zodiac is practically the same as the Chinese, although the names of the twelve animals are not exactly the same. Each animal represents a distinct type of personalities associated with earthly element such as Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth. Based on the Zodiac years of their births, two people can or cannot be “compatible” with each other.
